One-to-one drum lessons, practical coaching and workshops for developing drummers.

With more than a decade of teaching experience, Ed Hendry has helped drummers of all ages and abilities develop their confidence, technique and musicality.

He is a senior member of the teaching faculty at ACM London, where he lectures on both the Drums and Live Production pathways.

Every lesson is tailored to each student's learning style, experience and goals. Beginners will develop strong fundamentals, including stick grip, technique, timing and essential grooves. More experienced drummers can explore advanced coordination, jazz and Latin styles, or learn how to integrate Ableton into live performance.

Whether you're working towards your next gig, completing your grades, preparing for auditions, or simply want to play your favourite songs, lessons are designed to help you achieve your goals.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have Ed as our son's drum teacher! He is just 5 years old and has tendencies of ADHD, and has found a mentor in Ed who truly understands him. Ed has a remarkable ability to balance discipline and fun, adapting each lesson to Abel's needs. When Abel starts to feel overwhelmed, Ed adjusts the lesson, ensuring that it remains engaging and enjoyable.

What impresses us the most is Ed's dedication to finding different techniques to make learning both fun and informative. Each lesson is structured yet flexible, allowing Abel to thrive. Ed’s passion shines through his teaching, and it’s evident he genuinely cares about his students’ progress.”

“I’ve been taking drum lessons with Ed since the start of the year and it’s been an excellent and fun experience. As a beginner, I was nervous at first but Ed is patient and makes the learning process fun. Ed knows how to explain things, so even tricky grooves have been understandable. I feel I have come a long way in a short space of time and now I’m getting the hang of drumming. I highly recommend Ed as a teacher!”

“Ed is an incredible teacher and he has a great way of explaining concepts in a clear and adaptable way. Ed tailored the lessons exactly to suit my goals and aims with learning the drums and took into account how much I already knew so that our lessons were as productive as possible. His online set-up runs smoothly and is perfectly organised to see different angles of the drum kit. Would absolutely recommend Ed, in only a few lessons my confidence in playing grew so much!"

"My 9 year old daughter has been having weekly lessons with Ed for almost 2 years now, and has progressed to a Grade 3 level. In her own words: 'Ed explains things in such a way that she ‘gets it’. He is so patient and makes the lesson so much fun. He encourages her when she doubts herself, and pushes her to achieve results he knows she can achieve.

Her confidence has grown so much over the last year, she now goes on her own. For a child with separation anxiety, this is huge for her; only possible because of the trust between them. She loves her lessons and tells others about them all the time!"
